Burkinabe’s not interested in Ecowas decisions
It appears ECOWAS citizens have lost confidence in the ECOWAS institution and do not care what it does or does not do. Many social media users reacted to the video of the opening ceremony of the 2nd ECOWAS meeting on Burkina Faso with laughing emojis and funny and derogatory comments.
In another video sighted by nutis.org, citizens of Burkina Faso seem to care very little about the military takeover and what the ECOWAS will do. They said in the video that they do not need any help from ECOWAS and are not interested in the decisions because they could have come to help them before the coup but didn’t. The Burkinabe’s warned to throw stones at ECOWAS leaders if they dare come to their country.
So ECOWAS after its 2nd meeting over Burkina Faso yesterday in Accra has given orders for Burkina Faso to ensure civilian rule returns within the ‘’shortest time.’’ The nation remains suspended and will attract a more stringent sanction should it fail to release the deposed leader Roch Kabore with immediate effect.
How short the “shortest time” is that ECOWAS has given Burkina to do the needful cannot be specified.
