Aflao: POLICE INTENSIFY SAFETY EDUCATION FOR MOTOR RIDERS

by Barnabas Abass Seidu

The Aflao District Police Command has organized yet another sensitization program  for Motor and Tricycle riders to ensure safety on the roads before, during and after the  festive season.

The event took place on the Victoria Park in Aflao on Wednesday December 22, 2021 and brought together over 100 Commercial Motor and Tricycle riders.

Superintendent Obrako Sarpong Bempah, the Aflao District Police Commander explained portions of the road traffic regulations to the riders.  He encouraged the riders to register their motorbikes and tricycles, insure them and renew their road worthiness certificates as required by law.

Superintendent Bempah supported by the Ketu Divisional Crime Officer DSP Eric Vondee, warned motorbike riders with  foreign registration numbers within the area for commercial purposes to desist from such illegality immediately or risk being arrested and prosecuted.

The engagement formed part of a series of such programmes  organized across the Volta region to ensure that road accidents are brought to the barest minimum.
